Write for us
We welcome considered pitches about live performance and the craft of listening. Send proposals through the Contact page; a focused idea and a clear sense of the reader are more useful than a finished article sent without context.
What we welcome
Pitch essays and explainers on interpretation, ensemble playing, programme choices, concert acoustics or the language of reviewing. We are interested in fresh angles that help readers notice something specific, including a well-framed comparison or a short history that illuminates a listening question.
A useful pitch
Tell us the central question, why it matters to a general reader and what the piece would help them hear or understand. Include a proposed headline, a short outline and any relevant sources or access needs. Keep the scope manageable, distinguish fact from opinion, and say whether the proposal has been sent elsewhere.
Editorial fit
We favour clear, original writing over promotional copy, sweeping claims or technical language left unexplained. Please do not promise access or firsthand reporting that has not been arranged. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.
